Yes: Loftia’s solar panels can generate energy at night and in rain. The October 21 demo patch increased their energy generation in both conditions, with a particular improvement when rain and night happen together.
Do not apply real-world solar-panel expectations to this game mechanic. Night-time generation is part of the demo’s stated behavior.
What the patch changed
| Conditions | Confirmed change |
|---|---|
| Rain | Increased solar-panel energy generation |
| Night | Increased solar-panel energy generation |
| Rain and night together | Especially improved compared with the earlier demo balance |
The patch does not give a numerical generation rate, charging duration, multiplier or best panel layout. It therefore does not establish that night is faster than daytime, or that rain is the best time to recharge.

Identify rain using the interface
The demo has a separate known visual issue: rain effects can be missing even while the interface indicates rain and rain sound effects play. A dry-looking scene alone is therefore not enough to conclude that the game is using clear-weather conditions.
If you are comparing energy generation, check the displayed weather state as well as the sky. Comparing different weather states without noticing the missing rain effect can give misleading results.
If charging still seems wrong
Check that you are running the updated demo and note the weather and time when the problem occurs. Record what the energy display does during the interaction. No confirmed rate is available here against which to diagnose a fault from the length of a wait alone.
